Cosmetic tooth filling

Cavities occur when decay causes a fracture in the tooth enamel. If you have a cavity of significant size that raises concerns, a filling may be required. Fillings serve to shield the tooth from additional harm and alleviate sensitivity associated with cavities. At our practice, we utilize long-lasting fillings that blend seamlessly with the natural color of your teeth, rendering them nearly indistinguishable. It is important to note that we do not endorse the use of mercury amalgam fillings and they are not utilized in our practice.

Are metal amalgam fillings problematic?

In addition to being highly visible and aesthetically unappealing, amalgam fillings can pose potential health risks. These fillings often contain mercury or other heavy metals that can impact your well-being. Furthermore, the rigidity of these fillings makes them prone to causing further tooth fractures when subjected to pressure. As a result, we strongly advise replacing amalgam fillings if you currently have them.
